What is Australia Backpacker Visa?
According to the Australian government, the backpacker’s visa or the working holiday program is a cultural exchange program that allows young travelers to earn money as they travel, which will help them to fund their trip. The Australian government believes that this will boost cultural ties. The Work and Holiday visa is expected to be implemented for Indian citizens within two years.
What ARE Eligibility Criteria for Work and Holiday Visa?
- Age limit of 18 to 30 years when you apply
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- English Language Proficiency
- Hold a valid Indian passport
- Are outside Australia at the time of application for and grant of visa
- Pay the visa application charge
- Meet health and character requirements
- Will not be accompanied by dependent children
During this time, Indian travelers can leave and re-enter the country as many times as they please. Moreover, the visa allows them to do any type of work in Australia. But there’s a catch. They can only work for the same employer for 6 months. The Work and Holiday visa also lets Indians study for 4 months. The Backpackers Visa holders will be able to stay and work in Australia for 12 months.
